All About Cheyenne

Cheyenne Darmanie is a recent graduate with a BFA in fashion design from Virginia Commonwealth University. Cheyenne is an apparel designer focused on knits and prints. Her main focus when designing is to connect her background as a New Yorker with her West Indian heritage into the work she produces. Cheyenne enjoys looking at the intersectionality of streetwear, surface design, and textile manipulation in the context of West Indian ancestry and East Asian pop culture. Cheyenne intends to enter the industry through the streetwear market and draw on her Brooklyn roots for references and influences. The details and vivid imagery she references through her print development and hand embroidery, specifically satin stitching are directly related to the fundamentals of these fields. Technical knowledge of patternmaking both in 2D and 3D make the garments she creates functional and practical as well as aesthetically pleasing.
